Comments sent to Calvin Hanks following the Jubilee Family Festival:
A very big thank you for... organising the appearance of the musicians of the Boys' and Girls' Brigades. They put on an absolutely splendid performance, were enormously flexible and were a joy to work with.

Lord Mayor's Show, City of London - 12th November 2011
The text from a letter from the Rt Hon The Lord Mayor to Calvin Hanks following the Lord Mayor's Show 2011:
I am writing to thank you and the London Massed Bugle Band for your participation in this year's Lord Mayor's Show. There was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the entire day, generated by those taking part in the Show and the thousands of spectators lining the entire route. Combined with the unseasonably clement weather it really made for a Show Day to remember.
The Lady Mayoress and I were dazzled by the many brilliant and spectacular floats - all of which made the day so special for us. Each and every entry added something special to the Show. The Show is a wonderful annual demonstration of the diversity and richness of British life.
I do appreciate the huge amount of planning and preparation that goes into every entrant in the procession, and the number of people involved from start to finish is vast. I should be most grateful if you would extend our deepest thanks to everyone involved at the London Massed Bugle Band for helping to make the Show Day such an exciting and entertaining occasion.
Thank you all very much indeed.
(The Rt Hon The Lord Mayor, Alderman David Wootton)
